Terms of Service

The rules that govern how Talk to a Pro works.

Last updated: 2025

Welcome to Talk to a Pro. These Terms of Service explain the rules for using our platform. By creating an account, booking a session, approving a session, or using Talk to a Pro, you agree to these terms.

1. Platform Overview

Talk to a Pro is a marketplace that connects athletes and families with current or former professional baseball players for virtual mentorship conversations. The platform facilitates discovery, booking, payment, communication, and session access.

2. Not a Coaching, Medical, or Professional Service

Talk to a Pro is not a licensed coaching, medical, mental health, nutrition, strength-training, recruiting, scouting, or athlete-representation service. Sessions are mentorship conversations based on personal experience. Pros may share perspective, stories, and general guidance, but sessions are not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

3. Pro Mentors Are Independent

Pro Mentors are independent providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Talk to a Pro. Talk to a Pro may vet and approve Pros but does not control all session content.

4. No Guaranteed Outcomes

Talk to a Pro does not guarantee performance improvement, team selection, recruiting results, scholarships, or professional opportunities.

5. User Accounts

Users must provide accurate information and are responsible for all activity under their account.

6. Minors

Athletes under 18 may use the platform only with parent or guardian involvement. Parents are responsible for approving sessions and agreeing to these terms on behalf of the athlete.

7. Payments and Refunds

Payments are processed through Stripe or another third-party provider. Talk to a Pro does not store full payment details. Refund eligibility depends on cancellation timing, session status, and platform policies.

8. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for how they interpret and apply session information. Any decisions made based on sessions are the responsibility of the athlete or parent.

9. Off-Limits Topics

Pros should not provide medical advice, injury diagnosis, supplement recommendations, prescription-style nutrition plans, mental health counseling, legal advice, or financial advice.

10. Platform Ownership

Talk to a Pro owns the platform, including software, workflows, session records, notes, assigned work, and development history features.

11. Acceptable Use

Users may not misuse the platform, including harassment, abuse, impersonation, or attempts to bypass platform safeguards.

12. On-Platform Communication

Users agree to keep booking, sessions, and follow-up communication within the Talk to a Pro platform.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Talk to a Pro is not liable for outcomes, damages, or losses resulting from use of the platform.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Continued use means acceptance of updates.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

16. Dispute Resolution

Users agree to attempt good-faith resolution before pursuing legal action. Any disputes will be handled in New Jersey courts.

17. Contact

For questions, contact Talk to a Pro through the website.
